Who we are
A plant hire partner, not just a supplier
Rustenburg-based, and on site since long before anybody asked us for a website. Every machine and every operator that pitches up on your job is ours.
The operation
Built in the platinum belt
DEW Plant Hire is a family-run operation based in Waterval East, Rustenburg — right in the heart of South Africa’s platinum belt. We supply plant hire, lowbed transport and bulk earthworks to the mines, contractors and municipalities that keep this region working.
What sets us apart is simple: every machine and every operator on your site is ours. No middlemen, no sub-contracting, no finger-pointing when something goes wrong. From a single TLB for a weekend job to a full earthworks crew on a mine, you deal with one accountable team that takes ownership from quote to demob.
Over the years we have grown to a fleet of 44 machines — excavators, loaders, graders, dozers, rollers, ADTs and TLBs — backed by our own lowbed transport, so we get them onto your site fast.
What we stand for
The way we work
Four things our clients can count on, every job, every time.
Reliability
When we commit to a date, we hit it. Machines arrive inspected and ready to work — no excuses, no surprises.
Ownership
Our fleet, our operators, our responsibility. One team accountable for the whole job, start to finish.
Safety
Mining-spec standards on every site. Trained, certified operators and the paperwork to back it up.
Local knowledge
We know the platinum belt — the sites, the conditions and what it takes to keep production moving here.
At DEW Plant Hire
You’ll deal with Our Rental, Operational & Logistic Department directly
No call centres, no account managers three steps removed from the yard. When you phone DEW you reach the person who knows exactly which machines are available, what they cost, and how to get them to your site.
That hands-on approach is why mines, contractors and municipalities across the North West keep coming back — they know the job is being looked after by someone who takes it personally.
“We’ve built this on showing up, doing the work properly, and standing behind every machine that leaves the yard.”
